The emancipation of Pepsiman

By Lazim Yoosuf

It is the year 2069, the world has turned into a wasteland over constant war. People have retreated into safehouses to stay alive and avoid the radiation the bombs left behind. In this once beautiful world, one man, a PEPSI MAN, stands tall facing adversity of this now vicious planet all in the name of pepsi.

His mission? Scour the lands for any remaining pepsi cans. Pepsi cans are a miracle drug to Pepsiman, a half man half pepsi cyborg created originally as a showpiece for pepsi, was not affected by the radiation in any way, but regardless, the cruelty of this world has taken away the one thing that meant the most to him. Pepsi. With his trusted 3D camera given to him by his beloved Professor Adams, who he considers the closest to an actual family, he searches every landfall, garden, parks, schools, anywhere with any remote signs of pepsi.

Emptying his last batch days ago, pepsiman has practically been running on fumes, starving and alone in this desolate death-trap of a world, his vision fading and limbs weakening suit rusting over days of continuous rain…. a blip! It was his 3D camera, detecting signs of pepsi only a few miles away. Gathering up every remaining shred of resolve he carried on so far and his life at risk, he raced on despite his legs not being able to keep up with his excitement. He was led to the most beautiful clearing pepsi man had ever seen in his cyborg life. There it was, staring right back at him, an old nearly broken pepsi vending machine under a rainbow.

Almost as if a gift from his professor in heaven, pepsi man shed tears of joy and promised himself he would use this newfound opportunity to find real purpose and do more than just survive. He is going to live and thrive.
